Swansea truck centre has always been evolving - it was originally formed in 1985 in a management buyout led by John Landon, in their first year the company employed 24 people with a turnover of £2m. Today the company has grown and now employs 46 staff with a turnover of over £9m, and holds the DAF Trucks franchise. The Swansea parts and service department has won many national awards over the years for excellent performance and notable achievement.
In 2008 the company was acquired by the Watts Truck Group which now has dealerships in Cardiff, Gloucester, Hereford, Newport, Worcester and Yate supporting the DAF, Maxus and Fiat Van franchises. Today John Landon continues as Managing Director at Swansea Truck Centre, with his existing management team.
Commenting on the recent acquisition, John Landon said ‘ This is a unique opportunity to be part of a strong regional group that is dedicated to providing excellent customer service and I am particularly pleased that we are now part of the Watts family with their South Wales transport connections’.
